Welcome and thank-you for visiting. That said, this should get most people off to a good start. If you are looking for more information on Kuala Lumpur there are any number of good guide books from which to choose. BTW, if you are one of those 'old Kuala Lumpur hands' and you think we missed something, don't hesitate to drop us an e-mail.

Kuala Lumpur Overview
Covering an area of 243 sq. kilometers and an ever expanding population (estimated in 2003 at approximately 1.8 million), Kuala Lumpur is fast becoming one of the most modern cities in Asia and hub of commerce, entertainment, politics and international activities. Like the Roman god Janus it's a city with two faces, one facing the future with gleaming skyscrapers, first rate airport and international ambitions, the other looking back to remember its history of its colonial past & traditional Islamic influences - so put aside some time from your business trip as there is quite a bit to see and exploring Kuala Lumpur is time well spent.

The government has long been promoting Bahasa Melayu as the National Language in an effort to promote national unity, even so almost everyone in Kuala Lumpur speaks near perfect English - so much so that even if you do speak Bahasa Melayu (or even Bahasa Indonesian) most folks will reply to you in English.
